Clarity in kitchens, connection of indoors and outdoors and weight of natural will triumph this year.
Every year that begins is like a new blank piece of paper for decoration. It is the perfect time to balance and to analyze what the winning trends in the market will be in the coming months. We have been seeing some of these trends in decoration for several months and others are going to come to life in 2023.
Ceramics, as every year, is placed in the center of the materials as an indispensable tool for anyone who is going to start an interior design or decoration project:
- Kitchens, in light colors and integrated into living rooms. This year, kitchens are reaffirmed as one of the reference points of homes and become a central point of coexistence. We see, therefore, a new boom in kitchens integrated into the living room and, moreover, in light tones. In 2023 we will once again see how kitchens are dressed in white, beige or light gray colors, in a clear commitment to brightness and clarity.
Ceramics is a great ally of this trend, as it allows us to use materials in kitchens that we could not use in this room because of its characteristics: the lightest woods or the most elegant marbles come to kitchens thanks to ceramics and we do not have to worry about the delicacy of natural materials.
- Connecting spaces: indoor-outdoor. Just as the kitchen and living rooms are integrated into a single space, we also see how the interiors and exteriors merge into places of great continuity. Our indoor spaces look outside with large windows and with the same decorative style in both places: outdoor living rooms indoors or indoor dining rooms outdoors, everything serves to combine to win.
Ceramic is an ideal tool to generate this continuity, as porcelain tile allows us to use the same material indoors and outdoors. As with kitchens, tiles make it possible to use materials outdoors that in nature we could not combine in this way because of their characteristics. Natural stones, woods, cement, marble or terracotta adapt perfectly to these trends.
- The key is natural colors. Decoration clearly looks towards natural elements, it speaks to us of sustainability and the importance of ecology. Nature has weight in the textures, but also in the colors and 2023 is coming with an important boom in natural tones.
We will see much importance of white, cream or beige, but also shades of brown, tile, ocher or sand. These colors can be used for flooring or coverings, but also for furniture or decorative objects. We can use ceramics in light shades, both when we are reproducing textures of nature and when we opt for tiles with a traditional ceramic look.
